ABOUT
Purple Rose Records was founded in January 2018 as SR71 Records as part of the Solar Red Music Group with a focus on independent and alternative rock.
The original name comes from the Solar Red Publishing Group logos and names "Solar Red" and the number 71 from the Lockheed SR-71 "Blackbird" reconnaissance aircraft used by the US Air Force. Instead of the full name being "Strategic Reconnaissance-71," the name is "Solar Red 71" as a full play on initialism.
In September 2024, the name was rebranded as Purple Rose Records, in honor of Martin's friend whom passed the year prior.
Under Purple Rose, the label intends to have a focus on pop and similar genres.
